Greeting from …Uh, Earth?
Catch and Store water from your homestead! Check out this fully integrated water harvesting system in progress. Rain from the roof of the house gets pumped to a tank storage system high on the landscape. Then overflow from the tanks feeds a well located earthen pond (project in progress).
This pond provides habitat, microclimate moderation, water storage/ harvesting, swimming, and more on this 1-acre site. During summer months’ water from the pond will be used to irrigate the downslope edible forest garden. The 10,000 gallons of tank stored water will keep the pond topped off through the dry months.
We are turning rain water into fertility rich, biologically alive irrigation water as it gets activated in the pond! This is the power of designing integrative systems that work with nature.
Not just from Earth, but covered in it.

Fabulous work!
Very informative, actually am championing a similar kind of water harvesting concept in schools in my country. we have water challenges during drought seasons yet we receive a lot of rain during rainy seasons which is not utilized.
Your insights will really go along way in helping me to accomplish this.
I would love to see an update of the clay pond!
